Privacy Policy — RangJong

This policy explains what RangJong collects, why, who it is shared with, and how you can get it deleted. RangJong is a Tibetan language learning app for iOS and Android. In this policy, "we" and "the Service Provider" mean Kunchok Tashi, operating as Kharag Edition.

The short version. You need an account to use RangJong, so we store your email, your profile and your learning progress. We use Google Firebase for analytics, crash reports and notifications, RevenueCat for subscriptions, and Google AdMob to show ads to users who are not subscribed. We do not track you across other companies' apps and websites, and we do not sell your personal data. You can delete your account and all the data attached to it from inside the app at any time.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

Account details — your email address and password when you sign up. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In instead, we receive the email address and name that service returns. Passwords are never stored in readable form.
Profile information — display name, chosen avatar, and the optional details you can fill in on the profile screen (such as your heritage and your reason for learning Tibetan).
Profile photo — if you choose to upload one, the app reads the single image you select from your photo library and uploads it to our servers. The app never browses, scans or uploads any other photo.
Support messages — anything you send us through the in-app feedback form.

Information created as you use the app

Learning progress — lessons and courses completed, scores, XP, streaks, hearts, gems, and results from the arcade, tracing and bonus games.
Social and leaderboard data — your league placement, friends, and friend requests. You control this from Settings with the "public profile", "show on leaderboard" and "allow friend requests" toggles. When a toggle is off, that information is not shown to other users.
Purchases — which subscription or gem pack you bought and whether it is still active. Payment is taken by Apple or Google. We never receive your card number or billing address.
Usage and diagnostics — screens visited, features used, time spent, approximate session length, app version, device model, operating system version, language, IP address, and crash reports including stack traces.
Device identifiers — a Firebase installation ID, a push notification token, and an advertising identifier used by AdMob to deliver and cap ads.

2. Why we use it

3. Third-party services

RangJong shares data with the services below so they can perform these functions on our behalf. Each has its own privacy policy.

Google Firebase — Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics and Cloud Messaging.
Google AdMob and Google Play Services — advertising and platform services.
RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management. Receives an app-specific user identifier and your purchase history.
Apple and Google — payment processing and, if you use them, Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers.

4. Advertising and tracking

RangJong shows ads to users who do not have an active subscription. RangJong does not ask for permission to track you, and does not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. On iOS the App Tracking Transparency prompt is therefore not shown and the IDFA is not used for cross-app tracking.

Where the GDPR applies, Google's User Messaging Platform asks for your consent before personalised ads are requested, and you can change that choice at any time from the ad privacy option in the app. A subscription removes ads entirely.

5. Children

RangJong is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at the address below and we will delete the account and its data. Because the app contains third-party advertising, we ask that a parent or guardian review this policy before a minor uses RangJong.

6. Where your data is stored, and for how long

Data is processed on servers operated by our hosting and cloud providers, including Google Cloud/Firebase and our application backend at api.rangjong.kharagedition.com. Depending on the provider and region, this may involve transfer to and storage in countries outside your own, including the United States.

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the account and the personal data attached to it are removed from our systems. Backups and provider logs may retain copies for a short period before being overwritten. Aggregated statistics that can no longer identify you may be kept.

7. Your choices and rights

Delete your account, in the app. Go to Profile → Settings → Delete account. This removes your account and the personal data attached to it. It cannot be undone.
Edit your information at any time from the profile screen.
Control your visibility with the public profile, leaderboard and friend request toggles in Settings.
Turn off notifications in Settings, or in your device's system settings.
Manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple or Google account. Subscriptions are billed by the store, not by us.
Access, correction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent — email us and we will respond.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or state privacy laws such as the CCPA. We honour these requests regardless of where you live.

8. Security

Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Sign-in tokens are held in the device's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, Keystore-backed storage on Android). No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date at the top will change, and material changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use RangJong after an update means you accept the revised policy.
